Right, this could be considered as rather frivolous really.
As I have said previously, this is the year of rebirth for me and my family, and on this note I had a sudden impulse to buy a new car, well I say new, It's actually 10 years old.
The MOT is up on my wife's car, so I thought what the heck, as it is probably going to cost a few hundred pounds for it to pass.
And so to my choice of car, I knew my wife always wanted a convertible, but I always thought they were too impractical, too noisy too cold, and too expensive.
To my grate surprise however I discovered the price of such cars has dropped quite dramatically, also I have found convertibles that can have hard tops. So what to buy, I had basically narrowed it down to 2, either the Mazda M5 or the MG F. both costing roughly the same. Having seen both with their hard tops on I decided the MG looked far the better and went like stink, which the Mazda doesn't. As I like A bit of power in a car and with all other considerations, I decided to go for the MG. Unfortunately, there was nothing available locally in my price range, i.e. under £2000 and not only that if I wanted the hard top it would cost me another £500 on top, this being a must buy due to our weather in Britain being cold wet and horrible most of the year round. So what to do......Of course ebay........!
Most were out of my price range, but then from out of nowhere pops up a 1997 MG F vvc (with a hard top), this being one of the fastest version i.e, 0-60 in 7 seconds, faster by far than my Audi.......WAW! Couldn't resist it, it just seemed to call to me
Anyhow to cut a long story short, I won it! and for a lot less than you would imagine, can't believe it, picking it up on Sunday from a recording studio on a farm just outside London.
And here's the picture of our new family member.
Yes it is frivolous, but I truly believe this is part of the Rebirth. This car is a complete change in direction and quenches both our desires in terms of transport. It is dynamic, powerful beautiful, and fun.
As in the natural, so in the Spiritual!
