Legend

I love this song, particularly David Gilmour's guitar solo at the end.
Cool film, It's supposed to be for kids, but it's way to scary, even I find it scary and quite disturbing in places!
Actually I find this film more disturbing than "I am Legend"

Basics

1) I can not earn my salvation or my righteousness:

I am clean Holy and pure because Of Christ's sacrifice on the cross, so if I sin does that wipe out what He has done for me.

If I deliberately do something that is sinful, am I still covered by Gods grace and mercy?

If the answer is no, then what power is there in the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.

God gave His all for me, endured incomprehensible pain and torment and I can make that sacrifice worthless and meaningless by deliberately sinning! Is that what we are saying!?

Before Christ's sacrifice, God had in place another way for his people to atone for their sin, and that was animal sacrifice. This was pure and Holy before the Lord.

This however only covered our sin and did not wipe it clean. Christ's sacrifice makes us clean pure and Holy.

If one of my children disobeys me, then I am not happy because I am trying to help them.
If they deliberately do something against my wishes then I can become angry with them.

I do however still love them and still forgive them.
Now If I can do this for my children, how much more will my father in heaven do for me.

It would be foolish on my part though if I continued to anger Him as I would need to be corrected and if I don't listen to His words of wisdom He may choose to teach me by the only course left to Him. Remember He only wants the best for me and if that means a smack then so be it, as long as I learn to listen and obey. Likewise my children need to listen and obey me because I love them and only want the best for them.

2) God has chosen to move through his people:

That means us!

So where and when does God show His power?

Isn't it when we are obedient and do what He tells us to?

We can all move in our own power, that's easy, we do it on a continual basis, sometimes with good consequences and sometimes with horrendous consequences.

If we move in God's power however it is the perfect thing to do at the perfect time and in the perfect place.

Christ said "I only do what the father tells me to do"

This is the only scenario that Gods power is active through us and fulfills our destiny in Him

So let's do that, sounds easy doesn't it, but we more often than not add or detract to what God has said to us, usually because of some doctrine that we have taken on board or has been thrust upon us.

So lets be positive people:

God is with us and not against us and we can do all things through Him.
