I've been driving the MGF now for a few days and it's a blast. Hard top, soft top, roof off, you name it, it just puts a smile on my face.
Took it for a spin with Derry (good friend of mine). Went up the Neath valley on the old twisty road, and Derry was encouraging me to go faster. As we aproached a particularly tight bend, Derry says "go on try it at 70". Now I know that is braking the speed limit, but I just had to try it at least once. I felt a little apprehensive as I know the MGF's have a reputation of loosing the back end at the ragged edge!
I didn't need to worry, the car cornered like it was on rails and I felt in complete control the whole time, I even think I could have taken the corner at 85 and it would have been fine.
Thing is, this car is fun at any speed, and as a result I tend to drive it slower than my turbo Audi A4, which by the way does not come close for fun, exhilaration or anything!
Sian (my wife) also loves it, but I think for different reasons.
We will be spending many mornings together out for a jaunt in the MG while the kids are in school, whatever the weather!
